Education

Quality public education is the foundation of opportunity. We advocate for:

• Ensuring there are transparency and accountability for the Waterbury Superintendent and School Department.  (Including the full School Department Budget in an accessible format).

• Explore funding to expand After/Before Care for Students and Homework Help.

• Historically accurate, inclusive curriculums.  (Incorporating the State of Connecticut Black and Latino Curriculum into the Waterbury Public Schools.)

• Vocational and technical education expansion.

• Expanding the Waterbury Promise program to include students who seek alternatives to college and could use funding to enter into trade programs to help enter the workforce immediately. 

Fighting for increased in school funding and recruitment, retention and increasing district wide pay.
